Refugee Live in Concert 1974 Print E-mail

Refugee Live in Concert at Newcastle City Hall 1974 has just been released on CD.

refugee__live_in_concert.jpgRefugee was formed in 1973 from ex-Nice bassist/vocalist Lee Jackson and drummer Brian "Blinky" Davison and Swiss keyboard wizard Patrick Moraz. The band produced only one album, the self-titled Refugee and toured extensively in Britain in 1974 before breaking up. Moraz joined Yes as Rick Wakeman's replacement, contibuted to Relayer and toured with the band for three years.

If you have ever wondered what The Nice might have sounded like if the band had survived into the heady prog days of the mid-70s, then wonder no more. Refugee the album was remastered and re-released on CD in May 2006. And on 19 March 2007, a rare live recording of the band performing at Newcastle City Hall in 1974 was released. Both albums are available from Amazon.co.uk - check the Acolyte Emporium for details.
